It’s only natural for a parent to want to protect their child from facing difficulties and disappointments in life but the truth is, there is only so much a parent can do. Once the kids go to school, the chances of them being exposed to everything the world experiences increases. Cyber bullying, less than best grades, peer pressure, and more. Sometimes, problems in the home can have a huge effect on children too – especially if they aren’t trained to deal with it.

This is where resilience comes in. One of the best ways parents can prepare their children to face the inevitable is to build their resilience and problem-solving skills from a young age.  Founders of MAD About Education Beverley and Debbie, have found that the best way to do this is through play! Both indoor and outdoor play exposes children to decision-making, leadership, character-building, and more – all of which are part of what the organisation does for children.

Beverley has a background in child psychology and Debbie has a background in early childhood education. Watch the video to hear more from them as we talk about some of the programs and how parents have responded.
